An exciting visit to Maison TriumphAdd to favorites961

February 18, 2013

On Friday we kicked off London Fashion Week in style with an exciting visit to Maison Triumph. Triumph are this year’s official LFW lingerie sponsor and to celebrate they created a pop-up event in busy Covent Garden for fellow fashionistas and lingerie lovers to explore the heritage of the brand and discover their exciting future.

The event started with an inspirational speech from brand ambassador and designer of her very own, very chic lingerie collection for Triumph, Helena Christensen. Helena, talked us through her inspirations, from her vintage lingerie collections to her day to day life, her design involvement and her visits to the factories and it’s fair to say the collections were truly beautiful and carefully designed with the woman’s body in mind, for confidence and wearability.

Our imaginations were then sent on a trip back in time through the Triumph archive, looking back to the first corset design in 1886 to retro styles from the 40s and 50s and the very latest Helena collections. It was amazing to see how lingerie has moved on in the past 127 years and even come back round, I’m sure you’ll spot some similarities with the triangle cups and the high waist briefs that are making a big come back this season!

We then explored just how far Triumph has come…always looking for an innovative idea in lingerie, Triumph has become the first lingerie sponsor for London Fashion Week, providing lingerie for the catwalk shows. Here are some unique creations from key London Fashion Week designers.

Finally as a celebration of Triumph’s 127 year heritage in craftsmanship and expertise, David Longshaw recreated his iconic Maude the Mouse character as Maude the Maker. The sketches were amazing and Maude herself was made from Triumph’s Body Make Up collection.
