In 1996, model Sophie Anderton shot to fame when she became the face of Gossard’s ‘Girl in the Grass’ campaign. Now 17 years on, Sophie has returned to Gossard and recreated that iconic photoshoot for the new Glossies collection. Back and looking better than ever, we caught up with Sophie to chat about her favourite pieces, how she keeps fit and what to expect for the future.
It’s amazing to be back working with Gossard. I actually believe this campaign is better than my first original campaign for them in 1996.
2. Did you enjoy the photo shoot experience?
I love every shoot I ever do. It was like working with family so with this one it was more enjoyable. The photographer, Ruan Van Der Sande, is a very good friend of mine and we worked together over the last 3 years. Ruan is a brilliant photographer and to follow on from the original photographer Herb Britts is a credit to how good he is.
3. What is your favourite piece from the collection and why?
My favourite piece would have to be the classic black Gossard Glossie. I am loving all the new colours in the glossies collection and I love the turquoise and the coral.
4. You look amazing in the images! What is your secret to keeping fit?
I do Bikram Yoga 10 times a week and run 3 times a week. I also put it down to eight hours sleep a night and a diet of organic vegetables and fresh fish.
5. What can we expect to see from you in the future?
I am currently designing my own jewellery and lingerie line. I am also in development of a few other brands I am launching, as well as modelling a lot and DJing all over the world.
