Fashion Bust’s Lotte Debell Picks Her Lingerie Highlights For The SeasonAdd to favorites529

April 12, 2014

We catch up with Fashion Bust’s lingerie expert Lotte Debell as she shares her favourite lingerie styles for the season…

So far, this Spring/Summer 2014 is definitely one of my favourite seasons for lingerie yet. There seems to be more variety than ever in terms of styles, colours and prints and brands seem to be really embracing bold designs. And Figleaves always offer a great mix of all the latest trends and must-have styles.  Here are some of my highlights of the season.

Brights
Coloured lingerie is not for everyone, but it’s something I love. As soon as the sun comes out so do my brights! And this season is absolutely full of vibrant colours. Yellow is a particular favourite, and Cleo by Panache has yellow in abundance. I love this Marcie Balconette Bra, plus there are plenty of other colours to choose from.

You could also try the Elle Macpherson Intimates Beach Babe Bra in aqua green…

or Wacoal’s Embrace Lace in coral/pink.

Pastels
If this season’s brights are too bright for you, then the current crop of pastels offers the opportunity to wear a bit of colour without going all out. Pastel blues, pinks and pale yellows are everywhere and there are just so many pretty styles to choose from. Stella McCartney’s Stella Lace Plunge Bra is utterly adorable in a powder rose…

…whilst Empreinte’s Jasmine Underwired Bra in Primevere comes in the subtlest of pastel hues.

Sheers
Summer is a time I like my clothes to feel light, and that includes my underwear. When it gets hot, the last thing I want to wear is a padded bra. Plus sheer bras can be so pretty! I find French brands do delicate lingerie so well – I’m really loving this Insomnie Half Cup Bra in aqua by Simone Perele…

…But new Figleaves brand Lulu Tout’s collection of French-inspired non-padded bra has some beautiful pieces. The shape on the Amelie Balconette Bra is just beautiful, and the embroidery strikes the perfect balance between sheer and coverage.

And, of course, there’s always Gossard’s Glossies!
