In 2006, model and business woman Caprice Bourret started up the very successful lingerie company, By Caprice Lingerie. Ever since – and with the following success of By Caprice Swim – Caprice’s collections have grown from strength to strength. We were lucky enough to catch up with the gorgeous entrepreneur herself to talk about all things swimwear to starting a business. Caprice shares all in this interview…

What led you to create the By Caprice Swim collection?

Due to the huge success of By Caprice Lingerie, it just seemed like the right progression for my business.  I created a sexy, luxurious and comfortable swimwear collection that is very competitive in the market.

Describe By Caprice Swim in three words.

Luxurious, fun and comfortable.

We love the By Caprice Lady Spike Bikini Top! What was the inspiration behind this style?

Lady Spike is my favourite design of the SS13 swimwear collection.  I wear it all the time when I am on holiday; it is very sexy, elegant and flattering on all body shapes.

What advice would you give to any women thinking of starting their own business?

WOW where do I start with this one! You must understand every integral part of your business.  Cash flow is your bible – you must understand it, update it and keep on top of it at all times – remember CASH IS KING.  Your team is critical to a successful business, do not employ dum-dum’s because they are cheaper, hire your employees with experience as they know what they are doing. They may cost you more, but ultimately they will make you more money. Do not be greedy! Put your money into making a very good product even if it affects your overall margin. The days of the compulsive buyer are gone; they want a lot more for their money and can get it.  Most importantly of all you need passion – Live for what you do…Love what you do…

And lastly… what can we expect to see from you in the future?

I will continue to grow my business By Caprice and plan to expand, expand, expand.
