The Role

Support the Merchandiser in identifying and delivering the department strategy and KPIs.

Accountabilities

Customer

• Inputs into the department strategy and what is required to deliver
• Manages effective Events and Promotions
• Ensures availability for the Customer
• Supports the process to ensure the range is focussed and delivers to the customers’ requirements

Operations

• Provide accurate reports to understand last weeks trade
• Ensures stock is delivered to support the Plan
• Provides accurate markdown costings
• Provides analysis to support business decisions
• Inputs into new ways of working and process

People

• Manages Trainee Merchandiser’s operational workload
• Supports effective communication of business information

Finance

• Has a full awareness of department KPIs

Essential Skills

• Minimum 1 year experience at Assistant Merchandiser level – gained within fashion / clothing department
• Degree preferable but not an absolute must
• Experience of managing TM
• Excel skills at intermediate level
• Experience in sales forecasting (WSSI), intake management, markdown proposals, analysis of history for planning purposes eg colour analysis
• Communication – share information / analysis with team, participation in team meetings
