The perfect bra fit

For confidence and support, figleaves fit experts believe that finding the perfect bra fit couldn't be more important!

Find the perfect bra fit

Put a plain white t-shirt on over your favourite bra, which image looks like you?

The breasts do not look supported and are sitting lower than they should! Your cups and underband could be too big.

Go down one back size and one cup size

This t-shirt looks lumpy! If you have lumps and bumps at the cups then this is often a sign that your cups are too small.

Go up one cup size

A well-fitting bra will lift your bust to create the appearance of a waist.

Results in a great
looking t-shirt

In a well-fitting bra your nipple should be positioned at the halfway point between your shoulder and your elbow... whatever your cup size!

Look side on in the mirror and focus on your underband. Hover over each image for an explanation of the fit.

If your underband is too tight then it will ride down your back (in search of the narrowest part). This can mark your back, cause bulging and become painful!

Go up at least one back size

This underband will offer no support as it is too loose (extends more than 4cm). The support is now coming from the straps which causes the underband to arch.

Go down one back size and up one cup size

Your underband should look like this, straight and firm for support. If you want to test the fit then put 2 fingers at the back and if you can pull out up to 4cms in distance, it fits!

Your underband fits, now check your wire and cups

80% of support should come from the underband and the straps should add lift (20%)

Look in the mirror and focus on your wire. Hover over each image for an explanation of the fit.

The underband is too big therefore the wires are lifting away from the rib cage.

Go down one back size and up one cup size

Breast tissue is showing underneath the wires because the underband is too big.

Go down one back size and up two cup sizes

Breast tissue is bulging at the arms because the wires are too narrow and the underband is too tight.

Go up one cup size and down one back size

The wire is sitting back at the centre front and the breast tissue is fully encapsulated at the underarm.

Your wire fits, now check your cups

If you press the wire at your underarm and it bounces back this means it is not sitting correctly on your rib cage. Go up one cup size and down one back size!

Look in the mirror and focus on your cups. Hover over each image for an explanation of the fit.

The bust isn't filling the cups and they look baggy. This means they're too big.

Go down one cup size

The cups are too small which results in the "Four Boob Effect".

Go up one cup size

The wires are dragging down the body and the cups are too big. Therefore this bra offers no support.

Go down one cup size

The cups fit perfectly and the wire is sitting flat against the rib cage.

Start shopping!

When you put on your bra always remember the "lift and scoop" technique so your breasts fit within the wire edges.
